Hi - does anybody know why it is near impossible to get a canopy for the Vango Icarus 500 - I have searched countless sites including ebay and amazon and can only seem to find the enclosed canopy. I have been trying to find one for months now - have they stopped making them??

They're only doing the enclosed one this year, but I found a couple on ebay here and here.

Could it be that they are so popular and demand for them has been so great that they have run out. This is quite a common thing to happen this late in the season

yes i have seen these on ebay but they say collection only and are too far away from me  otherwise I would be bidding on them - oh well, I will just have to keep my eyes peeled for one locally.

You could ask the sellers if they are prepared to pack the item for collection by a courier arranged by yourself, using a website like Parcel Monkey.

I sold a tent and canopy recently list as 'collection only' and the buyer arranged collection. It all went very smoothly.

That's the 2011 enclosed front canopy. Having said that, It fits in exactly the same way as the 2010 version and gives more protection from the elements. It also comes with a groundsheet. It's a different shade of green but, to my eyes, it looks OK with the Laure/Meadow tent. We used to have the same combination until my wife saw the 2011 Icarus 'in the flesh', then we changed the tent to match the canopy.

I think more people should do that. Buy the canopy/extension first and then the tent to match it. It would save all the where can I get a canopy/extension for my ????? tent posts. Would make a nice change to see a few posts "where can I get a tent to fit my ?????? canopy/extension

Collection only is a load of tosh ! The thing only weighs 5Kg, costs £10.34 through the post office or £4.99 through Hermes.

Its people cant be bothered to go and but some bubble wrap and brown paper, hope they dont sell them the lazy feckers 

I sold a Laurel one a few weeks back for £140 with the postage, i was well pleased !
