Hi, I have a vango Juno tepee 800. I do like this tent and love how easy it is to put up but want to get a new tent for a camping trip next month. I have been looking at a few tents like the Columbia cougar flats ii cabin tent and robens vista 500. This is the type of tent I like (I like the more unusual kind of tents out their) I can’t get the Columbia one as I can only find it in America so postage costs more than the tent and the robens costs a lot so could go for the robens cabin 500. The tent is for 2 adults and one child but I like a bit of room so go for the larger style tents I would also like a shelter to go with the tent I don’t mind one that attaches or separate. Any ideas? Thanks Mike

Just a comment on your choice of tent rather than a suggestion for a shelter but should it rain or get cold, retreating back into the Cabin 500 won't make you feel enclosed like most tents will due to the size of the windows.
Whilst I don't own a Robens Cabin, I do have an Easy Camp Boston 300 which is a very similar design. I find sitting in the living area quite comfortable. I'm glad I went for something with large windows as opposed to the usual small rectangular efforts on most Vango, Gelert models etc.
My point is, the feeling of open space with huge windows may negate your requirement for a shelter.
The porch will also provide just enough protection from the rain to enable you to cook without getting wet. Mine does!
Thanks CB for the advice. Is it worth going for the vista (polycotton canvas)? It's a few hundred more than the cabin (polyester) is canvas much better than polyester? Is it worth the extra cost? Thanks Mike
