Hi
We are looking at buying a tent - and think this fits what we want(Head height, sewn-in groundsheet). Can anyone tell me if you can get a front canopy for this tent?
The other we are considering is the Outwell Nevada M, but this is more expensive. We will probably only use this about twice a year, but I would like something that would last.

Yes you can get canopies for the Icarus 500. The 2011 model has an enclosed canopy. Earlier years had open ended canopies which are becoming more difficult to come by.
Hi
I have had both the Icarus 500 and the Nevada M and out of the 2 I prefer the Nevada as the bedroom area is a bit bigger and the living area is much brighter but as you say its more expensive. So in the end you pays your money and takes your choice.

If the front extension for the Nevada M is still in stock you will get a better deal buying over winter. You will also be able to use the go outdoors price match less 10%.
The Nevada Ms front door can be pitched up with King poles to form a sun canopy, We didnt get these poles with ours so you may have to buy them
Hope this helps

Both are decent tents, and have extensions available. Personally I went with the Nevada, but it had some serious use last year and is just about to set out on its fourth trip this year so I was prepared to pay more for my second home!!
I picked up the extension for my Nevada at the end of last a
August for practically half price - just need to keep an eye on the sites and pounce!
Whichever you choose, enjoy :-)

If you are swaying to the nevada M see the thread titled Nevada M £180 something - as Go Outdoors are honouring a price match price of £160 something which is a bargain.
