Thinking of getting this tent but noticed it seems to have a gap in the sig near the side door. If anyone has this tent do they know why its there and has it been a problem at all. Going for sig to try and stop bugs, mice etc getting in at night!

I have this tent, just spent a week camping in it. there is a zip entry point to the left of the side door for EHU lead and to the right there is a small 2 inch inlet but nothing to allow any bugs, mice or wind to get in it. Its a GREAT tent, very easy to put up with loads of room.

Hi Gatser Hope its not too late - we had a great deal with a Calisto 600 & enclosed canopy for £289 ish from Caseys Outdoor Leisure + free p&p - fab company to deal with - 1st outing next week!!!!
Hi! I too have recently purchased a Calisto 500 have and been weathering it in the garden. It's a truly great tent, very robust with lashings of head room, not to mention excellent ventilation....but have to confess this mysterious opening has been bugging me too. I'm off to Hardwick Parks in Standlake on Monday...with duck tape in hand. Why spoil a great tent for the sake of a few unwelcome 6 legged squatters!!!

If you use duct tape as a temporary fix, you'll find that it will damage the PU coating of the flysheet if you try to remove it again. May be email Vango/AMG for an explanation for the gap. Its very, very unlikely that any insects will find the one little opening...
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!

I wonder how the test run with the calisto 600 went? I have just ordered one, with enclosed porch and footprint frm Yeomans and worrying whether I have made the right choice - I could not find one anywhere local to view before I bought....
Last tent was a Vango Aspen 500 and I just struggled putting the thin up - though it was a lovely tent once pitched...
