Considering buying either a side or front extension for the outwell Oakland xl. Does anyone know if the tent will still fit on a standard size pitch with the front ext on, friends have got the side one but for the extra room I am tempted by the front ext in stead. Thanks for any help

If youre after a marked pitch with EHU its a good idea to keep the width including extension to under 500cm The length of the tent doesnt seem much of an issue at a lot of sites.
Hope this helps

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
we were looking at an extension for our oakland, had been using the universal canopy that we use with our Monty 12 but its starting to show its age and fancied a new one. The only problem I have with the front canopy is that it blocks off all the gorgeous windows!!! I also have this nagging feeling as soon as i buy the side canopy they'll bring out one with a door on which is the one thing i would love!!!

We have the side canopy on our Oakland XL we chose this tent because of the extra large windows. That's why we decided against the front extension but it's horses for courses, some have both.
I have just posted my photos to the Tent Showcase. Not many people on there so far using the Front Extension, but it worked brilliantly for us freeing up indoor space completely for our young children to play...
The pitch photographed is 10x10m and the Oakland fits easily with front extension and guy ropes with about 1m to spare. You'll be fine with this, especially as the front extension is optional so quite simply if it doesn't fit, don't put it up!
