I live in a tiny flat with no garden to pitch a tent so dread having to pack up in the rain!
Either throw it over the washing line or spread it out in the bath, over the banister, behind the settee, in the garage (basically anywhere you have a bit of spare room) and turn it regularly until it is bone dry.

Last time we camped in the Ontario 8 it tipped it down as we packed up - it took me a week to dry it out properly!

Its alwaya a pain getting the thing wet before returning home..... one alternative is to get a weatherbug  or similar sat weather map ap for your smart phone. With mine we have managed to watch the clear patches as they come through and have an idea of how long they will be for. In this way we managed on our last outing to leave the tent up for long enough to dry in the wind.. then take down and pack before the next wet patch arrived.  Its a game of chances really, OK so you might end up leaving a few hours early but we find this better than having a sopping tent to deal with on our return.   Footprint groundsheets are great when this happens because the tent is sitting on the footprint and not on the wet earth/grass, so when you roll it up the base is not wet or muddy and ruining the flysheet as you roll.
