We are buying our first family tent and need some advice please! We initially settled on the Easy Camp Boston 600, on the account of the space and light it provided, however on reading its reviews are now having second thoughts. I have seen the Royal Houston 6 but I cant find one review of it anywhere?

Does anyone have any info on either the Boston or Royal? Or failing that suggest any 6 man tents (not vis a vis)?! We choose these due to the space/light not so much the budget.

There are 3 of us, but like the space of a larger tent, ideally my partner who is 6'4 should be able to stand up in it!

Many Thanks

Hi
Royal though not one of the more popular manufacturers used to make very good tents,we had one for several years and had no problems with it. If theres not a review for that specific model have a look at reviews for some of their other models to give you an idea of the quality.

Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again

I have just got a Royal Houston 6 as work for the distributors so got at staff rate.  We are away next weekend for the first time but I pitched it in the garden last night by way of a practice.

Seems an excellent tent.  Easy to put up - I managed on my own as my wife was out and is a great size.

Can't wait to go now next weekend.

My top tip is to try to see one before you buy (any tent). More to see if it is right for you. When you get to see a tent and walk round it you may really like it or dislike it (and you can check out the height!).

Do you live near any camping shops..?

Kampa tents have a panel in the roof which lets in more light but a sleeptite system in the bedrooms which make them darker

However the Royal Houston is cheap from £198
