Hi, I have a 4.2 base seconds, base full and a seconds air. They all "twin" together nicely. Do you think this constitutes as 1 tent? I am going on a site that is strictly one tent per pitch, no matter what size the tent. They said you can't take 2 small tents but can have one large one. Something to do with space between tents, fire regs etc.
What do you think?
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Surely it's what the site thinks. Lot's of people put two together with no problems, but they probably are technically breaking the fire regulations.
Probably best to find another site.
It's the phrase "strictly one tent per pitch" that does it for me. There's no way they're going to accept that combo - best look for somewhere else or confine yourself to the 4.2 by itself.
I have a base seconds and a four man pop up, which I docked together on a site which has a separate charge for pup tents. I was going to argue the 'modular system' or if it came to it stump up for the pup tent (or take it down and sleep in the base seconds) but in the end the site is local authority and run by students and they just didn't care.
Hi have just returned from the campsite, 1 tent per pitch, and they didn't have a problem at all with my Quechua combo! Their rules stipulated a "6 meter" rule, but groups of people had adjacent pitches and pitched their tents very close to each other. They had wardens patrolling and they didn't seem bothered about my set up. It did look like 1 big tent when all docked together, I even had my Quechua tarp up for cooking under. They say no gazebos, but the tarp was accepted. Maybe because it looked like it was a canopy of the tent? Will upload some pictures soon.
