I also have an Aspen 500 standard version, and also a Venture, well actually it's a Tamor which was a revised version. The Aspen is a great tent, even though mine is also for sale. We've used it in some bad weather, and it never moved or dripped. Other than being a bit of a pig to pitch, I can not praise it enough. We have gone over to old fashioned frame tents, that's the only reason for selling it. The Aspen is easier for taller people to pitch, and also easier if the second pitching version is used, where the tent is pitched like a tunnel tent with the roof sections fitted before lifting the legs etc. We now have pitching down to about thirty minutes, plus extra guys for windows etc, of which there are plenty. Never really saw a problem with inner tent pitching first, if it gets wet, it will dry out, the same as condensation ends up on the fly sheet. If you like it go for one.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
