SV8 is being retired due to numerous seam leaks on the rear panel,Could reseal it all and fabsil the whole tent but it's served us well for numerous years and i cba lol.

Trouble is we love that enclosed porch at the front which we couldn't have lived without last week tbh and I'm struggling to find an alternative with that without buying extra canopies etc

Alternatives so far after visiting Yeomans Ripley tent show and a browse online.

Hawaii reef-polycotton,same layout as the sv8,colour!! could we live with it?.

montana 6-no porch but under consideration as it's a tried and tested good family tent everyone swears by,they look great and my list looks a bit bare lol

montana lake-poly cotton and same as above

Vango selection

amazon 600-6000hh,no porch but has generous covered area at front, bit big tbh,3 double pods,

maritsa 600-only 4000 hh,cheap sub £300,3 double pods, has a porch but heard they suffer leaks?

Anything else that we should be considering?

The Mocha polyester version of the Hawaii is Outwell Glendale 5, slightly different frame shape but very similar footprint and layout.

How about either the Kampa Filey or Studland, or their PC Classic counterparts, depending on size and material required. Both have an integral porch, with optional vestible to enclose that

Another vote for the Vermont. Its spacious, has a big enclosed front porch,a wardrobe/storage inner, good windows with plenty of ventilation, and fits on a standard pitch due to it not being over 5m wide.

If you want polycotton then the Norfolk lake (sadly discontinued) is identical in layout and you can snap them up on eBay for around £400-£500 depending on how old it is. The separate bedroom style us the pre 2008 version.
We've had ours since 2008 and have had about a week away each year and it's still like new.
Hope you find one.

Another vote here for the Kampa Filey 6.  We love ours.  Much sturdier than the Sun Valley too due to its alloy poles.

I've also got a SV8 (2008 model).  I plan to sell it in the spring on eBay, but I want to pitch it first because it's been in its bag for over a year now and I wouldn't want to sell it without checking it over first.

Another vote for the Kampa Filey here. I actually have the Polycotton version (Filey 6 Classic) previously called Holkham 6 and it's an impressive tent.

Sadly ours is currently for sale due to buying a caravan. It's currently listed on eBay and on the freeads on here. I wish I could keep it though!
