Guys - I have it in writing from Outwell. They have confirmed what we Monty Lake owners all knew...that the floorplans of the above 2 tents ARE different.
For reasons that are beyond my comprehension, when Outwell launched the Montana Lake, they instructed UK dealers that the tents were identical as regards the footprint - this explains why every Lake owner has a '6' carpet that is 30mm too short!
Every UK dealer I have contacted doesn't believe me, so I guess it will take time to spread the word. I will try and order the proper Lake carpet via my local dealer, and let you know how I get on.
Outwell Denmark have confirmed in an e-mail that they have Montana Lake-specific carpets in stock...but I have since heard that this isn't the case and that they will be making a Lake-specific carpet for next season.
Great tents, but the way they operate is baffling as regards their marketing material and communications with the UK market. A touch of Scandinavian market leader arrogance methinks?!

Taunton leisure advertise montana lake carpets and say at the bottom that they won't fit montana 6's as montana lake is slightly longer, sadly they are out of stock. at the moment.
Just returned from a week away and to be fair the small area left uncarpeted aint so bad. It actually leaves a little area for wet shoes etc. Also when the angled front door was opened, any rain/morning dew etc. never ran straight onto the carpet.

I can confirm that Outwell only made the 1 size Montana carpet and footprint this year which was to be sold for both tents. This position is to be rectified next year (2012) with the availability of tent-specific carpet and footprint for the Lake
This is shocking behaviour by Outwell! As far as I'm concerned, selling a carpet which is 300mm shorter than the floor area is just as heinous a crime as murder!
