We just done our first pitch of our new high gear corado 4 in the garden all went well and it took us about 35 min to put it up and then another 30 min to do all the guy lines.

We are so happy with our new tent the size shape are fab much more room in it than our old vango orchy I think the tunnel shape is much better for us, we are off for our first trip in her on friday for 4 nights whoop whoop!

Nice 1 :-)

I really like the look of that tent, the porch part sells it for me, but... and there's always a but lol

I was only complaining the other day about struggling to put my tent up in a bit of wind on me own, but <----- told ya! lol... I'd be no better off getting one in reality, even tho I'd have a porch, I'd still struggle in the wind and decided, in the end to kinda lean toward a Carolaina S or M - though at this point in time, no decision has been firmly made lol

Hope you really enjoy your first night away in her! lol

Thanks both :0)

It was the porch that sold it for us tbh as we can still cook when it rains but I could never put it up on my own so know what you mean, the carolaina s & m are fab tents I'm sure you will love what ever one you choose.

Roll on friday so we can get away in her.

Mine took 50 mins first time I put it up (pictured in my gallery) and my god did I sweat doing it... bit of a yarn coming up so get a cuppa now while you can lol

When I got it, it was delivered summat like 11am, by 2, I was on my way to Hookes farm at Robinhoods Bay, I squeezed in somewhere cos it was packed on arrival ;-(  and took the tent out of the still sealed polythene bags, I rolled it all out and nearly fainted lol, it looked huge! people were watching, I felt a *wat, it was all inside out, back to front and upside down, I thought the side door was the front? had no idea where the back was and struggled like a monkey on a type writer spellin it's name, when suddenly it all came togeather and I laid it out all square, Ha-Ha! I thought, I've got yer now yer " at £$^%!!!!! anyway, to cut a long story short... I got the back poles in and anchored down, did the front next and easily did the 2 side ones and Voila! there she was, a bit of tugging here n there to tighten it all up and she was finished. I was knackered tho! must o' felt pleased with me self cos I poured a large one but it didn't last long and I had to have another! :-) the other pic in my gallery is the total kit I took and that was everything I had lol, got a cooker since and a picnic table and that's it I think?

That's how I pitch it and it works fine that way if you do it your self... unless it's a bit windy!

You could, and I'm sure many people do, but without wishing to dampen your enthusiasm, please read this advice from RoSPA.

Hi

Skandika is a Sweedish make, they have some really good tents, I got mine a few years ago off Amazon...

The good thing about their tents is they all have a hydrostatic head of 5000mm which makes them monsoon proof, most uk tents have 3000mm and the odd one at 4000mm.

They even have tent's similar to your new one :-)

So just type skandika on Amazon and wish yer dosh away lol

Don't rate skandika . Had one and seen plenty. There ok for the money that you can get them for. To me they are a starter tent , and good for that. But in the end you will have to get a decent tent. Don't mean to put them down but such is life..........

Have to agree about the Skandika tents. Not the best quality and the HH doesnt really make a blind bit of difference. In the UK a 1000 Hydrostatic head is more than sufficient to keep dry in the heaviest of rain.

Just to correct you on something - Skandika are actually German tents and they may be good at cars, but having owned a few German tents I can honestly say that the designs are fantastic, but the tents are not of the quality you'd expect for the price. Although they may have improved in recent years.

You will love your tent we do. We have the canopy as well which doubles the outside space, good value for money. We looked at the outwell carolina m but because of the shape of the front you lose some of the space in your porch .We can put the tent up in 20 minutes now.

There was a previous thread on here a few weeks ago about pitching so if you use search you will find it.

Hope you enjoy your first trip.

Happy camping

We have a corado 4 and a corado 6. They are both brilliant tents. You will not be disappointed!! We pitch ours by pegging out all four corners and then putting it up one pole at a time. If you watch the cross camping video on pitching the Oakland XML and use the same principle it works really well
