Newbie to the camping lifestyle. Bought an Outwell Texas L and absolutely love it. Managed to erect by myself in about 10 mins. I would just like some advice about putting it back down again. Myself and two children srtuggled this weekend as it was very windy. It was difficult in my front room but much more so in the wind - kept inflating despite leaving doors open as advised, and the children sitting on it. Ended up bundling it up and shoving it in the boot as it was and dealing with it when I got home. Anyone have any pointers please as it's the worst bit about camping and is stressing me out.

DON'T PANIC,most people just fold there tent up best they can when It's windy. Sometimes its better cause you can damage your tent if it is windy are you are messing about with it. Just remember and enjoy the experience , take your time and have a nice cup of tea.

Sounds like a good plan. Most of the time you will want to get it out and air it when you get home so why struggle to get it back in the bag only to take it out again?

Once it's aired and dry at home, you can take your time folding it back up for storage.

We never really bother packing tent properly because we always get it out when back at home to clean it and check for damage etc.even if it was dry when we packed up.

I have a couple of straps with cam buckles on them to put around the rolled up tent to hold it together. The outwell hold all gets filled with our other camping equipment.

Thanks all. Luckily I have a big sun lounge which is baking hot even in a small amount of sunshine so tent dried out nicely in there and then was repacked today by spreading out in the garden for folding. Just panicked a bit due to kids not helping and wind getting up a bit.

Wind, tents and children don't mix.If your ever in a windy situation again with the tent don't ever be afraid to ask fellow campers, aye you might get the odd miserable bugger but most will help out.
