Picked up my Gelert Atlantis 5 & porch yesterday but the tent wasn't in is bag so no instructions (noticed the porch instructions are attached to the bag so guess the tent was the same).

We managed to try and almost get it up but there weren't enough guy lines, the poles seem a bit knocked about which has caused a small hole when threaded through by previous owner but I guess this is where they gave up as the pegs are unused, the fabric (especially interior) looks clean and unused other than this hole and there are only a few random tied up guylines. From what I've seen this is going to be a great tent for us and I intend to throw a tarp over the sleeping area to stop the light coming in. Don't think OH is too keen on the idea but he's got the impression I'm really up for it as I'm now on my third tent (well fourth but he doesn't know about the canvas one!).

I've ordered some more guyline & runners which will hopefully get here before the weekend, I'm guessing to put it up you peg the groundsheet, thread the poles then stand it all up and peg the guylines?

thanks for that, thats basically what we did but I had someone to moan at me as we did it . I guess it won't be too hard with a footprint too and looks easy enough to do single handed if need be.

It sounds a similar porch to ours - for our Gelert atlantis 4 - so the plastic hooks were connected to the ring of the ring and pin system of the front pole.

The rear loose fabric of the porch with the cord for the plastic hooks stretched over the front of the tent and sat tightly behind the front pole of the tent.

It was quite rain proof that way.
