Hi Maggie. Iv had an icarus for a year now, a 2010 one and its been brilliant. Had 2 nights at littlesea back in early may and it rained and the wind did blow with a bit of thunder and lightning frown in for good measure. It didn't leak, its held up to strong winds. I can't fault them myself. Have a test pitch if you can if only to just check it out to make sure everything is there and to look at all the seams.

I have the 2010 600 model,and I can say it's a brilliant tent.the tension band's are a brilliant idea the tent hardly move's in bad wind's.Don't think I,ve heard any bad review's on it.
Glad to be hearing these reviews, we are picking up our 600 on sat, it's a Laurel green one so presumed its the 2010 model, it has only been used for 2 nights by the previous owners and cant wait to see it. Looked at the 500 model in go outdoors and thought it would be great for me to take by myself with the kids rather than my huge idaho!

April - Filey - no tent :-(
June - Carlton Minniott
July -Spain (no tent)
August - Carlton Minniott and others to be planned!
I'm very pleased with my Icarus too, it held up to a very strong wind when we got caught in a bad storm, so I have faith in the tension band system, which doesn't need to be used at all if there's no wind. I recommend it all the time, it's an ideal starter tent as it's no faff, with all the poles the same length there's no colour coding, and the bedroom pods are already attached.
I would get it pitched soon just to make sure it's all there, so you can get that sorted out with the shop. It can happen with any brand, and next spring is too late to try and get it returned.

Hi, i have a 2011 model and am very very pleased with it, best tent i have had so far, went to the north east coast in it on a cliff top and had horrific wind and it held up to it very well.
There is only normally 2 of us in it but i have been away and had 3 adults and 1 teenager and we had plenty of room
We've had both the 2010 and 2011 Icarus 600 and both have been brilliant tents.
I know Vango have had a few QC issues this year but they're not alone in that and I think you would be very unlucky to get a dud. Remember, you are far more likely to hear bad reports than good.
