Hi all , are the Hypercamp Elderado and Rosas 4 basically the same tent but one with a zig and the other a bathtub groundsheet ?

Does the Eldorado have more pegging points or are they the same ?

Any info will be usefull as the Rosas isnt on the Obelink site at the moment.

Cheers , Dave.

Hi Dave,

not seen the two side by side but it looks to me as if they have the same number of pegging points so are likely to be secure if pegged correctly.

The Eldorado has a thick bathtub groundsheet that is attached to the inner tent. The area in front of the centre pole has only a very basic tarp style groundsheet but because of the skirt forms quite a good seal when used together. Running streams will go through the front part but not the bathtub.

From the sets of photos posted on the site it seems the door frame poles on the Rosas are slightly wider than those on the Eldorado giving more standing headroom. This also makes the walls slightly more vertical at the front of the Rosas.

Hope that helps,

cheers, John

Thanks for the info John. It looks to me just a case of which type of groundsheet to have , the bathtub on the Eldorado looks perfect for my needs.

Cheers , Dave.

If you look at my posts Dave you will see I'm a real Eldorado fan. I have quite a few tents but it is really my favourite. It is heavy and has quite a few guy lines and peg points that are a pain in stony ground but for one or two people it's really nice to live in.

I recommend using a footprint as not only does it keep the tent clean and layout easy, but it creates an additional cosy seal with the skirt, groundsheet and my luxury, the carpet.

Oh, did I mention compared to other similar tents it is astonishingly cheap.

cheers, John
