I would love to be able to chuck the kids in the car for a couple nights camping. Our family tent is too big for just a few nights and I wouldn't manage it on my own. (well maybe i would, but it would take ages) and I am not good at strategically packing the bus :/

I have been looking at the Quechua pop ups. There is nowhere that sells them around here.
They look relatively easy to set up, the ones that can be put together look a little more versatile than the family pop up ones. Any reviews/recommendations?

I havea Gelert Cabana 4 - which is very easy to pitch. Nice sized bedorrm and a living area where, not large is roomy enough if the weahter wasn't good. OK you wouldn't be able to get chairs in for everyone - but for a weekend I find that I can manage with a chair for just me, and the kids sit on the floor.
Hi, we have a Vango Icarus 500 and can get all 4 of us in the bedroom area no problem, the living area isn't massive but we can get one of the blue folding picnic tables in there or 4 camping chairs. We also have the matching canopy which is a god send when wet.
Hope this helps :-)
P.S Millets have a sale at the mo and they are a good price.
Been looking at the bell tents, they look easy to pitch and would bring back many happy memories of camping in the guides!

Sorry to confuse you and recommend another tent. We have the Outwell Virginia 5 with the front extension as an extra. I take my kids away often if hubby cant manage to come with us. Its very quick and easy to pitch myself. Very similar to the Vango Icarus 500 but got more windows allowing you to have a good old nose if the weather is not so great.
You did not mention your budget for your weekend tent? Oh, and I should mention that the Virginia 5 is only available from Yeomans stores or Yeomans online .
