Hi all, We recently purchased an Eurohike Buckingham 6 Tent.  On trying it out in a friend's garden today (our garden is to small!) we had problems with the ring & pin system.  We managed to get one end in and then the other end would not go, as did not have enough slack even with the webbing loosened.  Wondered if anyone else has had this problem & if so if they have managed to overcome it?  We ended up giving up after trying for ages!

We are due to go camping this Saturday and at the moment we have decided to go back to using our Coleman Rock Springs 4 Berth tent, which has the same system but which we know we can put up, having used it twice already this year.  However in the long term we obviously want to use the 6 man tent as we have 2 children and me & my husband camping.  At the moment its ok in a 4 man as children are only 5 and 7 but obviously they will grow and we can imagine the 4 man one will become a bit of a tight squeeze!

Any advice/help would be very gratefully received, thanks!

Deborah

hope not to offend but have you got the right poles in the right place. when we first put ours up we didnt put the poles into the colour coded sleeves, as the poles are 3 different sizes they wouldnt fit in the ring and pin.

maybe worth checking

Deborah have a look at my solo pitching tip here I encountered a similar problem with my Outwell Carolina so I insert the pins when the lower part of the upright poles is disconnected. As newbiecampers suggests, its worthwhile making sure the right poles are in the right place as well, its dead easy to mix them up. hth

Thanks for the advice newbie-campers and Jim!

We think we had the correct poles in the correct sleeves, however that is definitely worth a double check, especially as one is grey coded & one black, so may be easy to muddle them if do not look close enough!  Pretty sure we had the light blue one correct.  We did manage to get one lot of pins in, wonder if that was the blue one?  Don't recall!

Like your tips Jim.  Also read the forum regarding it & someone said about putting the pins in whilst the poles were still lying on the ground, so think that may also be worth trying.

What we have decided to do is to take the Buckingham 6 with us to try, but to take our 4 man Coleman one as back up just in case.  Also you never know someone kind may take pity on us & help us with the Buckingham, lol.  Whatever happens we will have a tent to sleep in at least.   Wish us luck!  Thanks again :-)

Deborah
