i am looking for a new tent i know i am going for a polycotton and have it down to 3 (i think lol). the wolf lake, the clear lake or the kampa studland 8 classic.
we have 2 kids and 2 adults but like alot of space, we also have a very big airbed (a double height aerobed that only just fits in to our 3 man bedroom pod at the min).
i know that the clear lake doesn t have the bedroom pods to fit this but we would plan to just put the bed in the back living area and not put the second pod up.
love the wolf lake but we like to have a porch that can be closed off.
the kampa is perfect for us with the bedroom layout and the ext that closes of the front just one small problem, i reaaly want an outwell lol

your thoughts and ideas and any other tents that might do the job would be greatly appreciated

We have the wolf lake - I thought I'd miss having a closable front porch but the covered area at the front actually provides a lot of shelter, we do most of our cooking there, on gas or electric, it's worked well for us.

So far we've put our 2 children in one 2 man pod with the other opened up to make one large pod, my one complaint is that I'd prefer the central bedroom to be the 3 man one, that way you'd have full height all around. We just have a regular double aerobed though and it fits fine in either side. I'm not sure a double height one would, the sloping side on the 3 man pod would be on top of you. Is it still just a double size? I know ours is 137cm wide, checked that before buying the wl!

Do you need to buy right now, there have been threads on here about some lovely new polycottons coming our way!

Hiya,

We bought a clear lake this year.  I personally love it.  We have a big double height air bed which we do stick in snuggly to the 3 berth inner tent.  We have just had a week in Lyme Regis and on our final night we removed the inner tent and put all the beds up in the back living quarter, it made it look huge!!

Whilst we loved the wolf lake as well, the clear lake suited our needs a bit better.

Tis a big tent but the enclosed porch area was great for sitting, cooking etc.  The only downside for me on the clear lake is the sloping front doors.  bit of pig getting in and out on a wet day,  but I have come to the conclusion that you never find a tent that completely fulfills your requirements and this is more that definately the best fit for us.

It's a difficult one to choose and everyone will have their own opinion, take on board those comments but go with your gut - I am sure you will be happy!

Oh - and just one final thing.  If you go for an outwell, please do make sure you buy from a good, solid retailer. Thank goodness we did, because I have been less than convinced over the customer support offered by outwell and it came down to our retailer to apply the appropriate pressure (successfully) to outwell.

Good luck!

Rayn

As far as Outwell go, I've only got praise......we've had our Bear Lake 4 for a couple of years now and it works well for us 3, with loads of room for siting in, but the bedrooms aren't massive. Quality is great but the payback is.....weight!!!
