Very chuffed, just got the Oakland XL from Go Outdoors in Cardiff, ex-display model for £125. Have just been online and bought the front extension and carpet for £200.

It's a great tent, we love ours and those huge windows are brill, if you've never pitched it I suggest the Gary cross method. Do a practice pitch before you go too
Don't all Go stores have their display tents outside all season? i'd be concerned it wouldn't have the longevity of a brand new one and in the long run cost you the price of a new tent sooner rather than later.

LittleRuby, yes that was an initial concern of mine. But I have scrutinised it, and there is very little sign of wear & tear or discolouration and they told me that it has not been up the whole season. Also it is in a shaded area.
And Angie you are right - that is exactly what we were thinking. Our needs will probably change in 2/3 years as our children grow. Then we can look for the next bargain on a bigger and better tent :-)
Just remember a polyester tent has an approximate life span of equivalent to about 6 months exposure to the elements,so one that has been outdoors all season will just about have had it.
The suns rays break down the fabric,it becomes brittle and de-laminates from the waterproof coating

De-laminating and brittle flysheets can creep up on you without advance warning, but if you are prepared for a couple of weeks holiday for £125 then if you get longer its a bonus. Its worth noting that some retailers sell on display tents after only 2 months at bargain prices so that the buyer gets some life out of them or for spare/repair.
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!

I've had my tent for a year now and absolutely love it. I've got pitching to a tee now! Me and the 2 kids can get it up in half an hour with the fotprint first. You got a real bargin!!! I thought I had when I got mine at a special offer price of £219.00 a year ago brand new. Hope you have many happy years in your tent!
------------- Camping sorted ... just the sunshine to book now!
