Just picked up the Infinity 600 carpet and wondered whether anyone else had one to compare. Ours looks a little odd. Not unexpected maybe but it isn't a single piece of carpet, instead 3 pieces relatively poorly sewn together and the middle section (which is about 1 foot wide) doesn't match in shade: Looks like bowling green stripes. On a lesser point, there is no attempt to remotely match the pattern up either. Maybe I have been waiting so long my expectations have risen too much.

My Vango Maritsa carpet is like this - i just assumed its the way it was supposed to be. The pattern is little green triangles and doesn't match up - clearly made of 3 pieces of material - but i think that our living space is too big and bit of an irregular shape for it to be made out of one piece of material. But ours is sewn together very very well - its been brushed roughly lol and hoovered on my lawn and its pretty robust!

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I can see why your Maritsa would be in several pieces, it's wider than ours.Maybe they all are in that case. However, are your pieces the same green? I will try and load a photo.

I have a Maritsa 700 and a Calisto 500 both carpets are sewing in sections, and are sewn together very good, and both the same colour. Even though the calisto is a lot smaller than the Maritsa it is still in two sections. The pattern is not matched up, but i guess that would make the cost go up, and use a bit more fabric. It sounds like you have an issue, i would take it back and ask for a replacement, as it does not sound right.

Sorry for the late reply. I had a look at your pics, our pattern is mismatched like that, but it is all the same clouor, your joining bit looks like its faded??
How did you get on, did they replace it for you ? xx
Cindy, how is your Calisto holding up? I am still after one for next year, but a 2011 model as i've seen some pics for 2012 and i don't like what they have done to the front door :( x
We have carpets from several manufacturers ~ they are all made of several pieces, sewn together. Our big Vango carpet is made of 2 but it is the more subtle pattern that preceded the triangle one, so matching isn't an issue and to be honest you don't notice the join. It was also a woven type of material rather than the fleecy type. Even our smallish Gelert carpet is made of 3 lengths and that is only 2.3m x 2.3m. The joins in the Vango one are unobtrusive, but the Gelert one has dark blue binding tape over the full join each time, which is far from subtle.
I suspect the colour shade change is due to dyeing inconsistencies over a long production run. Having looked at the photos, you are unlikely to get a carpet sewn together any differently, but you might get one without such an obvious colour variation. If you can't check the carpets in the shop personally, you might have to impose on the retailer to do so, but they might be reluctant if they are busy and the carpets are sealed.
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
