Hi, We've just been given a 2009 Outwell Montana 12 and i want to get an extension/awning for it. I was told the Vermont XL ones would fit ok but not the 2011 version (which seems to be the only version i can find being sold at the mo) Does anyone know any other porches/canopies/awnings etc which would fit? or where i could find a 2009 version of the vermont ones? i've tried ebay, loot, gumtree etc with no luck!

The older Vermont awnings were said to damage the main tent as the straps rubbed on the roof (I'm thinking of getting one), the new one is meant to be much better. I'm not sure on the specific years though, maybe 2010 is the optimum one.

ok, thanks. i contacted a stockist of the 2011 Vermont side awning to check it would fit before buying one and they told me that the 2011 version will not fit my Montana 12 as the clips and poles won't line up :( I have only been able to find the 2011 version being stocked anywhere, do you know anywhere which might have the 2010 version?

Our Khyam tent is similar in style and we bought a Gelert Porch for it. Not sure if that would be any good?

outletcamping.com had some vermont side extensions 2010 for £74 last time i looked,

yes but it doesn't seem to say which tents they are compatible with :( do you know any models etc i should particularly look for?

We just went by height. At the time of buying they had two versions. One with a J type door and one you could zip the front off which is what we have.

I think it is the one designed for a Horizon 6/8.

The porch goes on one side and then straps go over the tent and peg down on the other side.

Like the Montana our tent has two doors, one with porch, one without, so we use the one without for the Gelert Porch.


This pic may give you a better idea of what I mean.




Not sure what colour your Monty is (are they all green?) but I believe the newer porches are available in green.

Just looked online and the Gelert Beyond Meridian porch looks identical to ours so I reckon it's just the new name as they seemed to have stopped the Horizon tents and brought out the identical Beyond Meridian ones.
