Ours arrived earlier this week, I put it up in the garden on my own on Thursday. The worst bit for me is the weight, I lay it out on a ground sheet and pegged the 4 corners out, put up the large pole, and it went up quite easy really. As to weathering, I would assume, as is normal with canvas tents, that it is best to wet it and let it dry prior to use. This will allow the canvas material and stitching to swell in order to make it weatherproof.
We have been away this weekend, in the caravan, and are now trying to arrange a weekend in the tent just to give it a try.
So jealous, that's the tent I'd like for weekend trips - please take some pics and post when you get back,

Hi i cannot understand why you have not had more replies to your post there are a lot of eldorado owners on this forum you may be better of posting this again on the ( dutch piramide appreciation society thread )
Now to answer your question apart from the weight of the canvas the tent should be easy for one person to erect once you have done it a couple of times you will find the best way to suit you but this is how we do ours first make sure the door is zipped closed put a peg in each of the four corners of the outer using the rubber pegging points( do not peg them out to tight leave them fairly slack ) now open the door and go inside taking the long centre pole with you the end with the rubber pad is the top of the pole the apex of the tent is reinforced with several layers of canvas place the top of the pole in this then lift the pole and push it forward at the same time sounds harder than it is after you have the pole in position tent will be self supporting next its the two poles for the doorway then peg out the rest of the rubber pegging points then the guys
As for weathering the tent it does not need it we have several canvas tents from obelink they all have pretreated canvas there is no need to weather them the water will just form beads and run of
I was looking at getting the Eldorado before deciding on the Escala 4, and there are some very good advice in the thread that are generic to pyramid tents.
And please take lots of pics!
