Hi all, just bought an ex demo outwell hawaii reef, for a bargain price! we where told this is ex demo and needs cleaning. Part erected in my small garden which it swamps not pegged or guyed! The colour has faded drastically its now oatmeal rather than orange other than the door! which must of been rolled up for acess when being demo. We were told been outside for 5 weeks. Now dare I say we pressure hosed the tent and grandsheets they were well pitted. I have not used any cleaning fluid on it or reproofed it. Think this is the next step but dont think we have the weather on our side being late september. Any advice please its appreciated? Also we have watched the pitching video and I'll be honest we did struggle lifting this up at the front once all poles were in. Does anyone have any tips for easyness? especially packing this away cant seem to find a video of this been dismantled.

We find the tent very straightforward to put up. Kind of lines itself up when you walk out the poles, only thing to watch is keeping the doors zipped when you peg or there will be too much pressure on the main door zip. But this is similar for any tent. Because it's polycotton, I find it tightens up in the evening when it gets cold and damp - bare that in mind with the guys - especially around the door zip as it can get too taught - simple slackening will solve it, but worth considering when pitching.
As you say, the tricky bit is the initial lift as you've got most of the tent to lift up. We peg the back corners first then 'heave n throw' up the poles using the corner pegs to stop the pole falling then simply walk out the poles using our feet to get the bottom distance between poles reasonably taught. Peg the other corners and zip in the groundsheet then peg out. Needs two people on the first lift.
To take down - un zip and fold up the groundsheet inside while the tent is still up. Unpeg everything but the corners. Take out the front corner pegs and walk the poles back in reverse of putting up. Once on the ground and the poles out we lie the tent out folded in half - where the fold is along the middle of the roof the entire length of the tent. Looks like the tent is lying on it's side deflated. We then use the pole sleeves as the folding lines and fold in the panels - both front end an backend folded in first , then fold those sections over the next panel until you end up with it like a book - with them meeting at the middle pole sleeve.. Then fold one over the other. All the pins for the poles will be at one end so you can guard against damaging the fabric. At that point we get the bag and do further folding/rolling to get the right length for the bag - can't remember which way but it's fairly clear. We actually find it easier than our old plastic tent with sewn in groundsheet as the Polycotton and removed groundsheet means it simply drops without air ballooning the tent and folds solidly.
Last time we noticed some water get trapped between the footprint and groundsheet - so next time i'm going to fold the footprint under a bit more to avoid water getting under. the footprints really should be a touch smaller than the tent size, not identical - but I guess some people might feel short changed.
I cant thank you enough for your knowledge on this, being a women I have been getting slightly upset that I cant manage this, my partner isnt that good with manual labour lol. I have appealed to my work colleague helen a women lol for help taking this down tonight. With regards the cleaning and reproofing as it was ex demo do you think I should put away and doe this next year early season? I did buy the Nikwax tech wash ready to use but I was only going to use it on the stubburn stains, but I have read this could end up patchy and you should do all the panel.
Also with reproofing do you paint spray everything and do you do it inside as well? I feel im also there getting this tent up to spec and it was a bargain and Im sure I will love in when we take this on its first outing.
