Hello all,

It's been a while since last here, but now getting that camping bug feeling again.

I managed to bag myself a Cabanon Pyramide 6 last year.

I'm getting her ready in preparation for this years camping.

I ordered a carpet for her, I need to replace some rubbers, I want to get a groundsheet for her.

But what I'd really like is to have a sun canopy/porch for her.

I know these never come up by themselves, but I've seen a few listed as having new sun canopys added to them.

I've googled but can't find anything.

I'm wondering if there is a generic canopy that would fit.

Any ideas?

I do have a cream canvas tarp from obelink that I could adapt, but it would be wonderful if I could get something more purpose built.

Thanks in advance

Try contacting Forest Camping Centre and see if they can help you.

They stock Cabanon tents, and can get hold of various accessories.

Very helpful even if one does not buy anything from them.

Thank you DK,

I have just emailed them.

I'm wondering if the Barbados Canopy would fit,so have given measurements, although if it does I would be in a long line of people wanting one

I don't think it will, because some years ago I tried doing it the other way around; asked if a Pyramide 6 canopy would fit our Barbados. I was told the eyelets are in different positions and the taper on the front canvas of the porch is different.

You could probably have one made up, by TVS or some other tent repairer?

Just a thought: have you thought of buying a used tent and canopy, then keeping the canopy and selling the tent on? Might end up the cheapest option.

There's one for sale on these boards, at the moment (not mine, I hasten to add!):

Cabanon Pyramide 6 and canopy for sale

(UKCS member, Merry, had a newish Pyramide 6 for sale on here recently. I'd have snapped it up, if I'd known someone was going to advertise one with a canopy a little while afterwards! )

That is a thought Elles, but it's still rather pricey, although I'm sure a pyramide 6 would resell, it's a lot of faff, and I'd worry I'd lose money, for the price I could buy a new hypercamp escala with a movable wall....nows there's a thought! lol

I did wonder about the eyelets, I can see I'm going to bring shame on the pyramide society by having a gazebo at the front entrance!

If my memory serves me right, that one has been for sale on Preloved for some considerable time:

Pyramide

It's obviously priced too high, or it would have been snapped up ages ago (pyramid tens are always in demand!). So, it might be worth a sensible offer? It would always sell again (minus the canopy) for the right price, and Forest were asking about £200 just for the canopy, weren't they?

I reckon that one is worth about £275, tops. What do you think? If you could get it for that, you'd surely get around £175-£200 for the tent?

I know it's a pain, but not sure how else you are going to source a canopy, unless one comes up on fleabay?

Better still, it might be worth dropping the seller a line to ask if they'd consider selling the canopy on its own?

It's been for sale since 10/11/2011, which is quite some time for a Cabanon Pyramide!

Best of luck!

Thanks for your help Elle,

I've received a reply today off Forest camping, who were waiting for a reply off Cabanon and sadly the canopy will not fit.

At your suggestion, I've emailed the pyramide owner to see if they will shed light on where to get a canopy from. I'm hoping to get a reply

Hypercamp Escala 4 is a lovely tent, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who would like a canvas tent that is wind resistant, with a decent size porch area for cooking and sitting down to watch the world go by.

Ours is the one for sale with the new sun canopy and it cost £180 which if I sold separately would still make the main tent a bargain at £195. We purchased the canopy new from the Cabanon factory via Crosslands Caravanning & camping a little over a year ago and it's only be out once. We have someone intereseted in the whole tent to be picked up at the end of April but if that falls through I would consider selling the canopy separately as it's in it's own bag. For interest the canopy has a dark blue trim whilst the Pyramide is dark green.
