We've got a big tent for longer trips away(kampa croyde 6) but want a really 'quick to put up' tent for one night trips. Say less than 10 minutes to erect (cos' that'll take us 20 minutes!)
We like the quechua base seconds 4.2 pop-up tent but want all 4 of us, 2 adults and two kids, 6 and 4, to be able to sleep alongside each other, cos it's more fun, safer, warmer etc.
It doesn't neccessarily have to be a pop-up tent but does have to be quick put up and needs to have standing space of around six foot in the 'living' section. It doesn't need a big living space cos' we won't be in it much.
Needs to have a sewn in groundsheet and cost < £200 ish, not polycotton.
Not too worried about hydrostatic head cos' if it's going to be very wet we won't be camping.
Any suggestions?

What about the Vango Kairos 400 or 500? - would need to be SIMs for the 400 (as 215cm wide at its narrowest at the back of the inner tent and the bed height must be less than about 11cm), but the Kairos 500 would be a bit bigger. Alternatively, there is the higher spec but more upright and front door only Lichfield version - the Findhorn 4 (Lichfield and Vango are both owned by AMG - who moved the tied arch designs from V to L last year). All have excellent stand up height
I can pitch the Kairos 400 in under 10 mins by myself (5'2" female) and we have 2 adults and a child in it regularly, touring or for a quick pitch/late arrival weekend. We even had 4 adults and a child eat in comfort on the floor of the living area last year with all our gear stored under the slope at the front. The 2 side doors are an excellent arrangement allowing ventilation, easy access and keeps almost all the living area dry even if you enter the tent in the rain. The Kairos 500 or Findhorn 4 (both front door versions) would only take a couple of minutes longer to pitch.
With this design, although you need to keep a good airflow inside to allow the attached inner (Kairos versions) and inside of the flysheet to dry when you get home, you don't need to have the space that a pop-up requires to dry out.
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!

I'll be selling my 2011 Atlantis 5 very soon, 3 fibre glass poles and I can put it up on my own (with no kids about) in around 20 mins. One large sleeping area, SIG, tall enough for my 6ft OH to stand in and not complain about even in the sleeping area. Few down sides are there is a small hole above the sleeping are (that I can repair if needed as has repair patches & glue), I think some of the stitching on one of the 'pockets' in the sleeping area has been pulled but nothing major and no bag for the main tent fabric although I have used a large shopping bag. I want to sell it with the porch which also has a small hole in it, few spare pole sections and footprint for £60 the lot. Only selling as I need canvas
Haha! That's the first time I've heard anyone saying they 'need' canvas, but I do know what you mean! Not easy to camp under synthetic once you've had a canvas tent, is it?
