Hi, first post from a new member looking for some help :)

I'm heading off to a 3 day paintball event in the Brecon Beacons in July and need to get myself a tent. I've slept in a tent a grand total of twice in my 40 years, so I'm a complete newbie.

I'll be camping solo but taking a lot of equipment with me (two 120 litre bags of stuff), so looking for something spacious. Weight isn't a consideration as there won't be any hiking involved. Would like something decent quality that will last as I plan on some future camping with my toddler.

I've spent hours crawling around the display tents at Go Outdoors and come to the conclusion that a 3 man with some kind of porch for muddy boots would be ideal. Both the Omega and Halo seem to have good reviews and fit the bill in terms of size, but I can't decide between them and haven't had the chance to try either out.

If anyone has used either/both I'd be grateful for a recommendation? Thanks :)

Hi

I am currently using the Halo 300  on my trip around Britain. There is me and my partner and the size is just right. If its only yourself the you will have loads of room for your stuff. It takes us 13 minutes to put up and put in the SIM and sleeping bags. There is a porch on both sides for your boots.
We have had some little problems with a bit of condensation but we are camping now with it being frosty outside. If you re going in the summer then there are good air vents. Personally I do like this tent but need to clear up the condensation thing...maybe im doing something wrong
Before buying i looked at some reviews on youtube. a channel called simply hike helped and there was also another informative video on the halo 300
We are in the Brecon Beacons now....stunning place!! the waterfalls are amazing!!

hope ive helped in some way

Both good tents but i think you will find the porch in the Omega 350 will hold all your gear without having to use the sleeping area for storage. You can get a mountain bike in the Omega porch if you remove the front wheel...just to give an idea of size...

Thanks for the opinions so far. I love the design of the Halo, but currently leaning towards the Omega due to the large porch!
