Hello, just a quick question, we currently have a Vango Icarus 600 and we are looking into getting a carpet for it. Now the price for the official Vango one is about £75, and being a tight sod, i don't want to pay that much, but have seen a few cheaper ones on the market. All i want to know is the size of the Vango one so that i can size up a cheaper one for the summer. Cheers.

Can you not just 'google' it and it will give you the size.
I am sure you can get an alternative for a fraction of the price

Unfortunately, nearly all tent carpet manufacturers don't put the actual size of the carpet in the information - just the tent it fits. I guess it's to stop us going for the cheaper option.
If you look at tent reviews on this site, there is usually a floor plan of the tent with measurements. Remember that the carpet only fits the living area. You can use the details to compare sizes. This was how I found out that the Minnesota 4 carpet was the best fit for our Vermont M.
There are a few websites out there offering cheap Royal tent carpets, but be careful as some of the shapes are very weird, and would not fit a tunnel tent for example. If you have time to cut, trim and edge a carpet that's a strange size, good on you, there are some bargains to be had.
That's what I have done, bought a carpet for my tent, made for a different tent. okay it won't be an exact fit. This would'nt matter, as I will be putting a small groundsheet at the door which I will mainly be using, anyway, for shoes.

Im after a cheaper alternative for our Vango calisto 600... they are so expensive! I think the cheapest I've seen is £40 but go up to £70+ :( extra picnic mat I'll end up with probs!
Rick, not sure if you have the blue or green Icarus 600, but if it is the blue one keep an eye out next time GoOutdoors have a 50% off HiGear stuff as I think the Icarus 600 and the Mojave5 are a very similar size (within a few cm) and would mean the carpet was around £35 - £40.

The only reason for the colour is some people like it all colour matched and the HiGear one is more blue to match the current Mojave5.
The link Tonyb has on is the green one and a good price too and available now.
