I'm looking to get a new tent and messaged on here, receiving some good ideas.

I have come across the Vango Beta 450 and wondered if anyone had any experience with it at all?

I was looking for a geodesic or similar design as our current tent (which is a Rage Bodo 4) flaps about no end when the wind picks up. The only thing is when I compare dimensions etc that the Vango looks to be a pretty similar set-up, pegging out from three poles, another tunnel tent! It's advertised as an "adventure tent" but what would make this different to the Rage one?

We want something more stable but the dome tents don't give as good head space in the living areas...

Thanks for any advice!

I think you will find that the differences lie in the quality of the manufacture, the positioning of guyropes, guying points and the cut of fabric etc. Rage do not have a very good reputation on here. The Beta 450 is a popular tent, but unlike many of Vango's weekend tents it does not have the TBSII system which if clipped in place adds even greater stability.

If you want taller geodesic designs: the Vango Aura, Gelert Ottawa, High Gear Gobi and Kampa's Bude 4 (a 2 person pitching job) would be examples.

Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!

Thank you. Will take a look at your suggestions. On my other post (just asking for general ideas for new tents) someone mentioned the Hi Gear Gobi 4. It does look good but was a little over my budget.

I am embarrassed to own the Rage tent to be honest. It was the next step up from a very small two-man tent that was used once! It wasn't overly expensive, guess I now know why! Every time we go camping the other half comments how ours sticks out a mile and is nowhere near as good as everybody elses so want to get something good to stop him moaning as well!

I have gone for the Vango Aura 400! And at just over half price too so very happy. Couldn't find many reviews for it but looks good. Now I just have to wait to use it!
