I know these seem to be the way to go so I am asking if you could recommend a good one. Needs to sleep 2 adults and 2 children,(on double height airbeds)have room for tables and chairs etc,you know where I am coming from. Also are these tents really that much heavier as we dont want to find it a struggle coming back to camping once we sell our caravan.Look forward to hearing your views.

I have a Norfolk Lake for the four of us and our dog......its very heavy, it fills the boot of our estate almost entirely.

There are smaller ones than the NL but they are much bulkier and heavier to transport than a polyester.....but so much nicer

We have the Montana Lake, one bedroom pod for a large double airbed and another for 2 reasonably sized coleman singles for the 2 kids.

Nice big lounge are with lots of windows and a porch (for the toilet..!)

We also add a Montana 6 awning, then the amount of space is superb. Check out the tent reviews of Montana Lake for my pics.

The Polycotton variant of the Montana 6 is a heavier package all-in, I believe mostly due to the awesome PVC groundsheet which is unbelievably thick. That is where most of the weight is when you split the tent from the groundsheet and the poles. Although weight aside it is still manageable and you can clearly see the benfite of Polycotton when pitched.

I have a Kampa Holkham. (Now called filey 6 classic)

Great space inside. It's called a 6 person.2 equal size bedrooms so us in one and the 2 kids in the other, grateful spacious bedrooms so they are far enough from each other not to fight . Love the darkened sleeping area - works a traet in the mornings.

Loads of space to fill with tables etc inside. Also really hady side 'cupboard[ which zips closed so all the mess (or a loo) can be shut away from the main tent.

I would also suggest you take a look at the Kampa polycotton tents, great quality and excellent aftersales service

How about bidding for a second hand cabanon on eBay???? There seem to be quite a few about at the moment, and will be cheaper than buying a new one.

Montana lake for us... We wouldn't swap it! 2 adults and 2 kids under 5. Great space for when it rains. Prefect.

Hi,  We changed from polyester to polycotton last year and we much prefer it. You mentioned about the weight - yes polycotton tents are heavier and the pack sizes are bigger so if space in your car is an issue I would say make sure you see the pack size first. Our old tent was an 8 berth tunnel and we changed for a 4 berth polycotton - this takes up more space in our car than the much larger - once pitched, polyester tent ever did.
