hiya folks, just bought ourselves a high gear zenobia 6 to try our hand at camping, firstly, what do you think about that tent, secondly, do you know any decent campsites around 2 hrs from birmingham where we can take the dog along with us ????

Hi there, welcome to UKCS! sorry I don't know any sites near Birmingham for you, but I have the Gelert Horizon 6 which is basically the same tent as yours (I'm assuming its one of the older models, mine's a 2009). Nice tent, plenty of room for 4, 6 is pushing it. If you are using both bedrooms make sure the end door is securely fastened. If its like mine there will be a gap at the bottom of the door which can let in draughts and even creepy crawlies, this can easily be secured by adhesive velcro strips. You can get these lots of places, even the Pound Shop. Have a read at the Tent Reviews section on here too. Happy camping!

Have a look on Camp Site Search - you should find any of the Camping and Caravanning Club Sites ok re dogs and facilities, but rather expensive unless you join (which you could do on site).

Hello,welcome to the forum,and welcome to the doggy to the world of camping..freedom,yeah! Sorry,don't know any campsites within 2 hours,but you are in a great central place,so will have loads to choose from.

Our dog started camping lasy year when we got him from the rescue centre and he absolutely loves it,as long as he has his warm bed and favourite blanky and delta dog tether,he's sorted! We are slightly harder to please

cheers for the replies, i do go camping on my motorbike, but i'm trying to get the mrs into it which is why i bought a larger tent than my north ridge 2 man, think we are gonna give wales or derbyshire a try 1st, all the best
