I'm looking at a Vango Cerrado 400 Tent on ebay but can't find any info on it anywhere.
It says;
"A sample tent from Vango's Premium Signiture Range. These are one of a kind and not available to buy at retail. Your only chance to get hold of this rare gem."
Does anybody know anything about these?
Cheers

I doubt it as its a one off sample as the listing says

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I emailed Vango and they said'
"It is genuine. We design and sample many tents which don't always make it to full production.
The manufacturing and all fabrics / components are as standard Vango products, and carry the full warranty / guarantee."
But they didn't supply any details about size design etc :-(
If you look closely aswell the pic on Ebay is of the 600 not the 400

Yip I see that!
I have sent the seller a message to confirm just how alike they are and if they have any more specific details about the actual tent up for auction.
Would you have any recommendation between this, a Vango Icarus 500 or a Vacanca Montreal 400 by Outwell; they're all going on ebay!
With the Cerrado you will have something different, I have bought from that seller and they are very very good. If not then the Icarus and then the montreal.

Having said that the Montreal is new and a good price. You wont go far wrong with any of them the advantage with the Icarus is you can get carpet, footprint extension etc for it
Good luck if you are going to bid on the Cerrado

I'm leaning towards the Montreal as it's from Argos, is new and has 1 year warranty but mostly due to the canopy side door. I think this could be handy for access in the rain.
The Cerrado MAY have a side canopy door as the 600 version pictured has but I'm not definite (I have asked the seller) but also I would be worried about returns and also accessories for it.
I think accessories that would do the Outwell Explore would do the Vacanza Montreal as I think it is the same tent with lower spec HH and maybe poles?!!??
The seller is actually a sister company to Vango and Lichfield (both owned directly by AMG). The seller actually operates out of "Blacks of Greenock" which is also owned by AMG. They buy cheap direct from Vango and sell on. It is AMG's way of selling on excess stock and new end of range, ex-display and reconditioned tents. I bought a Vango Kairos 400 from them last year and it had a damaged pole sleeve. It was replaced by exchange of courier parcels - one in and one out at the same time. The service is excellent. It can be easier to ring them rather than email as they are quite busy. As with all distant selling you get 7 days to check over the tent.
Nearlynewtents also sold sample versions of the Vango Aura last week with aluminium poles, it was otherwise exactly the same tent. I expect that this will be a version of one of their other tents, with similar dimensions, so you'll still be able to get accessories to fit.
BTW - I believe that once a tent has been test pitched with Argos unless there is a definite fault their normal returns doesn't apply. You might want to check. BTW - check out prices online as Argos is far from the cheapest for camping gear and you may well be able to source a higher spec tent for less money... many online retailers also deliver to the door free!
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
Thanks for your reply.
I didn't go for the Cerrado as I couldn't get any details on it but with your info on the seller I will keep an eye on their auctions.
I'm looking for a tent that has a canopy on a side door for access when it's raining and one where the bedroom pod has full separate fly mesh on both doors and the pods can be made into one where a double air mattress can be placed in the middle.
Sounds as if the Kampa Frinton range is right up your street, although not the cheapest given the extra quality (including the much more robust and much longer lasting 100 denier flysheet). I am not sure about the whether the zip in divider in the Frinton is completely flat, ours is slightly raised, but I believe that Kampa have addressed this comment. There are a couple of youtube videos including the Frinton 5 by Cross Camping and Leisure which will show the inner divider. If its flat to the ground you can put your bed central.
We have both Vango and Kampa tents. We love the quality of the latter (far superior), but I do also like the ease of the tuck away inner tent doors that Vango do.
