Hi There,
I've just purchased a Hi Gear Voyager 6 and was wondering if anyone on the forum had put this tent up on their own, it's a semi-geodesic design and the tents I've had before have all been tunnel tents, no problems putting this type of tent up on my own.

Any advice on putting up a semi-geodesic tent on your own would be appreciated.

Also has anyone owning the above tent left the inners in situ when packing the tent up.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

We have this tent. OH can put it up on his own, takes a bit longer, but it is doable - takes about ten mins longer. Haven't packed it down with inner in cos we like to air tent When we get it home. It's a good strong tent and stands up to the weather well.

Happy camping

Thanks for the info Jewelsm, I think I'll have to do a trial run and see if it packs away o.k. with the inners left in place.

The fun part of the trip is getting the tent back in the bag! You know it has gotta fit cos it came out of the bag, but there is something working against you when you are heaving, squishing, squashing and praying it will all go back in. Lol

Hi
We have packed away with the inners left in its ok when packing up but when you re pitch I found it to be rather tight getting the poles back across and into the ring and pin.but no problem with the tent bag it's massive.would highly recommend getting the footprint and carpet as the tent is quite large inside and the carpet makes it feel a lot warmer.just bought the porch but have not put it up yet.will let you know what' it's like when I do put it up.
Great tent though

Hi paul+kate s-o-t,

Thanks for that information, being on my own I think I'll take the inners out as I dont want to be struggling when erecting the tent and for the time it will take me to re hang them I will probably not have gained anything.

I am keeping my eyes open for Discounts at go outdoors for the Carpet. Once again thanks for the info.
