i have my lovely kampa tenby 10 which is to big and is a super size pitch, but is to big for just a week end as it takes so long to put up so am looking for a 8 man tent for us to use as a weekend trip tent but i want it to fit on a normal size pitch so what size do i need so it fits thanks x

I tried to find information about the standard pitch size on C&CC site and can't.

However, it does say tents greater than 5m x 9m (excluding the guys) would need to go onto a Jumbo pitch.

Pitches vary in size according to which site you are on!

We looked at a site that said the pitches were 6m x 6m and your tent had to fit on that including the guys!

I usually go by the C&CC pitches as an average which are 5m x 9m for a standard pitch.

My favourite site, Birchwood Tourist Park near Wareham, Dorset, stays the following under their Tariff page:

Tents Maximum size on any pitch 4.6 meters (15ft) wide and 6.7 meters (22ft) long. If larger tent area required, two pitch charges will apply. This by arrangment only.

The site we go to regular has one pitch size and I can pitch my tenby 10 for the same price as a 3 man tent its fab

Dont think there is such a thing as a "standard" pitch on privately owned campsites, weve had all different sizes
