Just noticed they have them on for £99.99 buy online. Not sure about in store. Couldnt believe the price hike in the 4.2s this year.

was looking at these last night and was ooooo SO tempted as we already have a base full plus a 3 man. This would make our set up perfect. BUT (why is there always a but??) I dont think OH or my boys will be able to stand in the living part?? as they're all over 6 ft

Get it to arch then just hand each side squeeze towards middle and down to ground so you have your willy shape use a knee in the middle, 1 ball on top of willy then otherover that, put it on its side between your knees and get the yellow strap on it and tightened then tuck in the excess, back in the back in the bag. Lot easier with concertina type than the older ones you had to fold corners in etc.

Wrong one discounted for me!   :(

I'm looking at a Base Seconds 4.2 if/when I get rid of my Folding Camper later in the year!

I'm hoping it's the right choice, criteria is very quick to put up, stand-up headroom, two bedrooms (albeit one will usually be for storage and the PortaPotti).

Glen

Have pre-ordred this tent as we were looking for an easy quick pitch tent for the weekends.

Is it a good tent, as I cant find many reviews on it across the web.

Have a Sunncamp Prism, but its too big for just one or two nights away. Looking at this tent for me, wife and 10 year old as well as small dog. Hope it is big enough.

Its a 4 person so the bed pod will be fine for 3 Id say, also the bed pod has a sewn in bathtub groundsheet which sits on the footprint groundsheet so doggy will be find in the bedroom with you guys. However remember the living area is just bathtub and velcrod in place at certain points so there might be escape routes if not zipped in the bed pod.

The new family seconds 4.1 & 4.2 versions are a lot easier than the old for folding away due to the concertina style and not having to faff with folding in corners like the old one. You just gather it up then straight to your folding shape 2 secs and its done. I loved all my quechuas just ashame I cant camp anymore due to my circulation etc regardless of layers and heater.

Think I might look at the Family Seconds 4.2 then instead of the Base! Living area is a bit smaller but I don't consider that a major issue.

Thanks

Glen
