We are currently in the process of changing from Vango Diablo 900. We really appreciate the quAlity and space but find the layout a bit limited for longer camping trips. We have looked at the Marista several times and really like it. Disappointed that we didn't get it earlier in the year when they were cheaper. However, now the price has increased, we want to get the best value for money. We are a family of five and usually go away for several weekends and a 1 to 2 week break each year. Has anyone any views on either, or anything else we should consider?
Many thanks

we have the maritsa 700 2011 model, 1st of all dont get caught out by being told that there is a new model for 2012 as this is not the case. Its a fab tent with loads of space for a family. has a fully SIG, and comes with the footprint and carpet which are well worth it. Once you have mastered putting the tent up its very easy. stands up to very strong winds and loads of rain. The porch is great for the kitchen set up. We have purchased the extra porch and it provides loads more room for the grandchildren to play if its raining. We use it for weekends and longer breaks (got 10days in Aug ) when we have the grandchildren with us, but saying that we have just used it on our own with the dog.
I think you will get a lot a replys from Vango Maritsa supporters, there are a lot of people that have and love them.
What ever tent you get i am sure that you will get lots of help from the kind people on this site, and welcome to UKCS.
Happy camping

2013 Nothing as yet , trying to get new boyfriend to go camping soon. Selling Maritisa 700 , so we can put it towards a VW Camper.
Another vote for the Maritsa, we love ours We have the 500 for two of us and the dog, but the 700 looks great for a family. I love the look of the Kampa Bamburgh too but unfortunately have never yet managed to see one in the flesh which is why we went with the Vango.
I didnt get to see the Kampa bamburgh before i perchased it,I just took the plunge a got a brand new one from ebay, paid less than 200 for it,fantastic tent, looked at the Marista in Go and although an impressive tent id rather have the Kampa, mainly for the head height in the bedrooms really, that and the price.
Another vote for the Marisa. We have the 700 for the four of us and there's tons of space. I love the built in porch for our kitchen area same as cindy, also great to keep muddy shoes etc in. Def try and get the 2011 model as there was leakage probs with the 2010 one.Really can't recommend this tent enough!
Good luck with the hunt

I have the Maritsa 600 and love it! There are the 2 of us and our 6 and 2 year old (so we had a bedroom each) but by September there will be another small addition so the girls will be haring a pod. It's easy to pitch once you've had a few goes, super sturdy and very roomy! Love all of the fly screens - means we canget fresh air but stop the little ones from escaping! we have the kitchen area set up in the porch and open it right up in the weather is nice enough (keeps the hot things away from little hands) We saw this pitched next door but one to the bamburgh at our local camping shop and i didn't rate the bamburgh as much i'm afraid. It seems rather plasticky with too many windows and was much hotter inside on the sunny/windy day we looked. But then i appreciate that some people prefer a bright tent (i would rather be outdoors if the sun is shining!) lol we went back a few weeks ago to get an Icarus for a weekender tent and saw the monte verde 700 i think? It was lovely inside, but i don't think it was worth the high price, and didn't really see the point of the roof liner etc, just more to set up and pack away if you ask me lol xx
We have a Maritsa 700 and love it - the head height in the bedroom isn't a problem for us as at the door end it's standing height, so ample room to get in and out of bed and get dressed
We looked at the Kampa Bamburgh but decided against it as it's only 6 berth meaning we wouldn't have the extra space in our bedroom, our beds would have filled the pod with no room to get in and out of bed, also there's only a fly mesh on one of the side doors - we like to open both our side doors for ventilation!
We paid £300 for ours in the GO sale in December

we are a family of 5 and we have the maritsa 600, as there isnt really much difference overall in space between the 6 & 7 we camped last year for a little over a week in cornwall and we had bad weather, we had the kitchen set up in the porch like many others. we went and looked at the full rnage of maritsas from 500 to 700 to make sure we made the right choice for us as a family..
my advice is have a look my local go outdoors has the 700 up and it really doesnt feel any larger than my 600.
we had 3 donut chairs and two large camping armchairs a camping wardrobe and all the mess of 3 children and we didnt feel cramped at all, maybe the 600 could be a consideration and as for price it will definitely be cheaper

and anyway anyhow or anywhere in between
Friends of ours have the Maritsa 700 and they are a family of 7 (children from a few months up to 15) and although cosy they are certainly not cramped. They use the front end as their cooking area.
For the money I have to say that i think it is a very good tent, and it is definitely sturdy having been well wind-and-rain-tested during the Easter Holidays!
We have the Vango Maritsa 700 too, absolutely love it. Did lots of hunting around before we purchased it, and looked at lots of others, but when we went to a camping display and actually saw it up, I had to have one.
It is very roomy and I use the front part as a kitchen. Me and OH sleep in the roomy bedroom and 2 girls in the end and all the clothes and junk etc go in the middle one.
Having a lot of windows also makes it very light and airy. I have pics if you would like to see the inside.
