Hi there, we're used to camping in our Montana 6 but are looking for a short break/weekend tent.

We've been looking at the Hi Gear Mojave 5, but then a friend has offered us a Vango Orchy 500.

From the reviews I can't tell if it easily sleeps 4 as we are a family of 2 adults, 3 yr & 6 yr old boys.  Any advice?

Also, would you think this tent is suitable for a week camp??  Not sure all our stuff would fit after using the Montana 6 with awning

Thanks

I would say 4 and with the orchy the bedroom will divide down the middle to make 2 x 130cm rooms at least it does on our friends. I would say if its a good price then it would be ok for the weekend just dont take as much with you but I would use the Monty for a full week

Apologies if you've already taken the plunge but if not go for the Orchy 500.
I have the Montana 6 and love it but for the past 3 years I have joined friends on a Dad's camping trip and happily spent 4 nights with 3 children and me in the Orchy. My only advice would be get the front extension as it is a great space for all the extra bits and pieces and will make it a closer buy to what you are used to in the Monty but packs down into a smaller bag.
The Orchy is a doddle to pitch although the extension can be a pain if you don't get it exactly right on the front, but like the Monty it pitches in one go with its sewn in ground sheet so it doesn't matter too much if the weather is typically British.
If you do get the front extension check the pitch size at the campsite as it does make the tent just under 9 metres long plus guy ropes, but I suppose this is about the same as the Monty + awning.
