Hi Ratty,

Personally .... im not going to be rushing out to get one.

I dont understand Outwell, they seem to listen to their customers one minute, as they did with the BL canopy, and then go and make new tents that still have the same issues as the older ones.

Big tent but not one of the entrances has a covered doorway and they are all sloping doorways. Im guessing that anyone that could afford a tent like this would more than likely have a carpet for it so when it rains ... door open ... wet carpet !

I also find it strange that they have decided that the windows, and there are lots of them, are best stitched up so they cannot be opened and lets face it although its a polly cotton tent with a good 40% of it being plastic windows the thermal benefits of a PC flysheet has surely got to be compromised.

Final gripe !!! for such a big tent why only 2 average size sleeping pods ? in fact there is more space in a BL6 sleeping pod than this.

Nope sorry not one that does it for me, think Outwell could have made better use of all that space.

I've recently bought one. Love the space, but the sloping doors are a pain in the rain. (The carpets get wet.) Hoping a canopy will be available eventually.
Do like the polycotton though.

It is a lovely looking tent.

We had the Tenessee 6 and tbh it was a nightmare to pitch, the first tent i've struggled with, the width made it really heavy imo. Is the weight/width of the polycotton with the Cougar a pitching issue?

The thing is heavy to put up granted, but so solid once erected. Spent 2 weeks in St. Ives and whilst I saw many tents, poles etc sticking out of wheelie bins in the mornings we had no problems at all with stability. (I do use deltas for the guys though.) It is also VERY VERY quiet being polycotton. My last tent was like a crisp packet!

does this 5.7m wide and 5.9m long tent only have 3 poles to support all that heavy polycotton canvas? especially when its wet!

the little trout lake 3.1m wide and 4.9m long also has just 3 poles to hold up a lot less canvas!

hope that the poles for the cougar lake are somewhat stronger but for some reason i wouldnt be surprised if they are they same poles - just longer!

The poles are 25mm diameter, substantial enough for the tent. The Trout Lake poles are 16/22 mm. Once up, the tent is rock solid.
