Hi,

Well the title says it all really. For example look at this website where you can see different prices for Montana 6P Premium, and the Montana 6 Deluxe.

They look the same...are we talking about several versions of the same tent? And what version should I search for when going for maximum size?

The Montana 6p's fabric has a 5000 hydrostatic head and tinted windows, and slightly different shape at the front. Whilst the Deluxe has a 4000 hydrostatic head, other than that there really is no difference, although he tinted windows do swing it for me.

The mocha Montana is new this year and as stated the main differences are colour, lower hydrostatic head (4000) and the tinted windows.

The Mocha model has probably got fewer reviews because it is so new. To be honest the hydrostatic head rating is OK.   Earlier Outwell tents were produced with a lower rating and were fine

The Outwell Montana 6P is an excellent tent we used ours for the first time last weekend. Its not what I would call a weekend tent though (3 nights at least).

You also have to remember the a HH of 1500 is classed as waterproof in this country and just because one tent has a higher HH it doesnt necessarily follow its a better tent, quality is more important than HH

there are still 2010 and 2011 models available out there with huge savings to be made. the deluxe is just the 2011 model with brown 4000 HH poly.

I personally dont like the new bevelled shape of the 2012 6p and it only adds around 5cm all for an extra £100 notes

I have not seen (in person) the Montana 6 but I think the 6P front does let in much more light (I have uploaded - http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/userimages/8941.jpg).

My wife paid less then £600 for it. The sloping sides do make it so you lose some space, as you can see with our Outweek Kitchen but we use the space behind for coolers and such.

Only thing I wish is that the outer doors were fully sealed by zips as we had the mesh rolled up and  our 18 month old managed to get out from the bottom and go outside. Also wish that the cable entry point and ties were on both sides.

We plan on getting the awning and maybe extention. The only thing I wish is that the awning had curtains for some silly reason the 6P one does not have them, this would be used as a kitchen for when we are away for 5 nights or more.

Still so far its a very good tent and I am happy with it.
