more curiosity than anything, but as a single camper I still like to have space, so I have an Icarus 400.
What do other single campers have? do you prefer the small 2 man dome thing where you have to crawl in and out of it, or are you like me and have a tent much larger than you actually need?
------------- Half Empty or Half Full, it doesn't matter..it simply means there is room for more beer in your glass!!

I tend to favour 4 berths too dor solo camping - like the headroom and the extra space - and I like a separate kitchen tent and a sun canopy ...................!

I have a 4 metre diameter bell tent. Sometimes it seems embarrassingly large for one person, especially when surrounded by hiking and lightweight campers with tiny tents. I've just ordered a small canvas tent as an alternative.

If you dont mind the expense...VANGO AIRBEAM range well worth a look..peg the corners out..pump the tubes up....you can have as much space as you like .We use a 6-man tent for 2 people and leave a bedroom in the bag..loadsof space and easy to put up.

TBH it depends what sort of camping I'm doing. If its backpacking I use my wee 1 person tent. I often use my 5 berth Tamor 500 and sometimes my Khyam Biker when I want something ultra quick to put up.

Just bought a Gelert Atlantis 3 for myself and dog. Wanted a living room with windows and standing height. Most 3 berth and smaller aren't tall enough to walk in. My old canvas ridge tent is 6 feet high - but the walls are so steep you can't walk around in it or get a chair in so it meant sitting on the floor - not good for my old back.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.

For two nights I use a Vango force Ten mk 5, for more than two nights I use either a Cabanon Pyramid IV or a Relum Canaria 4K.
The main reason is I couldn't be bothered to peg out the Relum or Pyramid tents for just two nights tho' they have the advantage of being able to accomodate a double SIM.

I don't do compact camping. the back can't take it nowdays.
I use or have used before selling when solo camping, 5 and 4 mtr bell tents, Eldorado, Cabanon Latitude, Sunncamp ranch, 5 mtr tipi, Peace 800, Vango Tamor and the large Easy Camp tipi. Oh yes, my new little tent, the Cabanon Calais. Now that really is compact for solo camping
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
