Just wondered if anyone could recommend a weather proof gazebo? We normally go away 3 or 4 familes together and pitch a gazebo for communal use inbetween us all. With the awful rainful lately we purchased an extra side for our current pop up gazebo to enclose us all totally but joining two gazebos together obviously has leakage problems with heavy rainful.  We like to stay up late and chat around the BBQ and obviously with approx 12-14 of us we need something largish to fit us all and preferably totally enclosed.  Any ideas anyone?

I would strongly advised against getting a gazebo after nearly loosing my tent with it in strong wind.

It was a concertina type, and the joints bent in the wind.

I would advise getting a dedicated event shelter instead, made by the likes of Coleman, Outwell, Vango, Khyam etc...

They peg down more securely than gazebos IMHO.

Sorry, but is "BBQ" in a "totally enclosed" structure really a good idea?

No we realise the danger of an enclosed BBQ its more a fire pit with smokeless logs (site permitting of course!).

I will look at the event shelters - thanks.

I maybe wrong but surely smokeless logs will be along the lines of odourless thinners, all the dangers but less warning signs!

possibly but we are all alive to-date! If we get an event tent (rainproof) obviously we will move to a camping heater and the BBQ will remain firmly outside!

For 3 to 4 families this would be a good size

You can add sides to it too, I would delta peg it though

There is the Quechua seconds base XL I think it is, beauty of the bases is you can twin to extend. Pricey this year but well worth it id say.Have a look on Decathlons site under family pop ups.

Hi I think youlbury  recommendation Is a good choice, shelter and Delta's I would like one myself but can't afford one. Not sure about the Emerald, I think I may have read on here that they blow about a bit in the wind, sides not stable that sort of thing. We were  looking for a tent to cook in and lots of people recommended the Cabanon kitchen.  The Coleman Event Shelter is good as a firepit shelter we see one used for just that purpose last year very good. Another one is the Colman instant screened canopy If they made mesh screens for the Event shelter that would make a really good shelter IMO

Would really advise against a gazebo and wish all sites would ban them. We returned back to site last Tuesday afternoon to see four of them crumpled and ripped out by thewind. One had flown over the top of someones tent. No damage to the tent or to a person but that was luck more than anything else. I wouldn't be too happy if one damaged by tent or hurt a member of my family.
