Customer service took a bit of work to get a response from never mind the shop, who gave us the impression they where just going through the motions and couldn't give a damn that we had taken 3 tents back and just lost a week's holiday. And the fact they could see faults with the tent on the shop floor didn't make any difference.
Looks like we are going for the Outwell Glendale 5.

Just as matter of curiosity what sort of time frames were the faulty tents purchased and returned. Was it all within one month..? Looks like you have had some bad luck getting three faulty tents.
First 2 where Hi gear voyager 6 tents, first had no toggles sewn to the inside so no curtains or doors could be tied back. We swapped it for another at end of last year, that one leaked so gave us our money back. Start of this year after spending ages checking out tents got the Vango Maritsa 500 as we liked the built in porch, but on second use a few weeks ago it failed big time as it was raining and coming in all around the tent, you could actually feel the rain vapour hitting you as it passed through the roof of the porch and had a huge puddle in the living room as it came in various places throughout the rest of the tent.
So the Vango was purchased about 4-5 months ago and the other tents were faulty but dealt with last year..? The 2nd Hi Gear replacement tent was swapped over when? How long before you took it back as faulty...? When did you buy the first tent - how long before it was exchanged..?

I was just surprised at GO Outdoors, I have found them OK. Go Outdoors offer 28 days to inspect a tent. If you do find a fault within this period they normally give you an instant refund. If you go over this they will offer to send back a tent to the manufacture for inspection /repair or if in stock exchange the tent. I only thought Go Outdoors were being a little unusual in the way they dealt with you. If each tent has developed fault over a period of 8 months then it helps explain it a little more. I thought it all happened within a very short time frame (couple of months).
Unfortunately is not until things go wrong you realise how good or bad customer service is with a retailer.
We where a bit taken aback by the whole incident we expected better service than we got, especially with the trouble we had previously and the fact we had just lost a week's family holiday, and showing them photos and video of the rain coming in done nothing to change the can't be bothered attitude we got. Hoping the Outwell gives us better quality assurance. Still using Gooutdoors for price match, getting Glendale 5 package £512.
Just checking the tent reviews it looks like you bought the first tent in May 2011 which was exchanged straight away..? Then you returned the new exchanged & now faulty tent in Oct/Nov/Dec last year and got a full refund (5-6 months after the original exchange/purchase).
So you have received full refunds for both tents after returning to the shop after 4-5 months which doesn’t sound so bad. Again bad luck that you have all these faulty tents but at least you have been refunded the money.

Fine although I think they are expensive this year. Having owned a Vango Icarus 500 and Nevada M I would say some of the features are better on the Outwell. We are starting to see some deals come through and prices are coming down. The Nevada started at £320 but is now down to £260 (sold most of last year for £240)
As mentioned Kampa tents are looking quite good value this year and have got some good reviews.
