Hi. We've just picked up our first ever Cabanon (Monpellier I think).
It's not new, obviously and a few of the rubbers have perished and will need replacing. I'm sure there's a thread on this somewhere, but what's the best way to go about it please guys?
Also it seems in great condition otherwise so is it best to put it up and weather it or re-proof first? It hasn't been used for a few years we think.
Chuffed to bits with our glorious bargain blue wonder!
Thanks in advance .

I bought a 2nd hand Cabanon it also needed new rubbers best I found, through this site are the Isabella Isaflex rubbers in packs of 10. They are made from 6mm shock cord, i think. No sticky rubber to stick to your tent, the plastic fitting goes into the D ring next to the old original rubber, Just cut off all the old rubbers and replace them with the Isaflex ones. As far as re-proofing your tent I would pitch it first and let the rain really soak it, That's all we did and ours is fine. Don't use tap water it leaves stains on the windows and roofing material
What tentfluff said. The Isaflex are really good, slightly longer than the original rubbers but not a problem, easy to install they just clip in. I tried a normal replacement rubber and it was a real faff.

The Cabanon fitting allows for the rubbers to be replaced, that is why the plastic ring is there. If you do a search for replacing cabanon rubbers on tinternet there is a picture of how it's done. On my computer it's the first listing. Sorry I can't do links.
I'm not saying that other methods are not as good, just that this is what Cabanon suggest

I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

My pack of Isabella isoflex rubbers just arrived and they fit the d ring on Cabanon beautifully!
Highly recommended.
Not as cheap as the standard yellow rubbers but a much neater solution. Bought via eBay for around £3.95 for 10 plus shipping, all in about £6 - not too bad. Will definately buy some more, but will try my local camping supplies shop first to try and see if I can get cheaper.
