I am looking for a new tent the more i look the bigger the list gets, anyway i have a budget of about 200-00, the ones that have catched my eye are the Gelert lokon vario 6, the Gelert tahoma 6. These are my favorites i like the idea of the living space at the front of the lokon, but i cant find anywhere near me that has them up so i am prepared to take your advise on the 2, and if anyone has anymore suggestions on tents i will look at them as well.I have posted the links for you to look at, but ignore the prices i have found them alot cheaper else where
I too am looking for a tent and I found that in the end I had to make a list of what I wanted the most from the tent. I'm down to a vis a vis style tent. I know what you mean abot the ever extending list!
The tunnel tent looks as though it would be cooler in the summer cause there are more doors you can open and also I would imagine it would be much lighter. But you loose on having the two completly separate cabins.
Sorry, don't think have been too helpful.
Also where are you from may be someone may know of somewhere local you haven't looked - just a though.
cbfc, have a good look at the Gelert LV series. Excellent tent, but then I'm biased. Quite a few members have this tent and as yet there has been no negative reports.
You don't say where you are but if you have any major camping stores in your area you can look also at the Royal Avignon if you can't find the Gelert Lokon Vario, to get an idea of what the Gelert is like, as it's almost identical (not sure if quality is the same but design is, only detail differences). Not sure if there's also a very similar Sunncamp (I know there's another similar one to the LV series but not sure who it's by - several mfrs now use the LV basic design/layout - I could be wrong but if truth be known they are probably all made in the same chinese factory!)
I know last year in the Midlands both Jacksons of Old Arley (nr Coventry) & Barretts of Feckenham (nr Redditch) had them displayed.
Must agree with Breezy, the LV is the one to go for. I know it's what we'd probably go for if we were changing our frame tent. I liked it immediately I first saw one - so versatile with that moveable front panel. Would certainly suit our requirements. We'd probably have one now if they did it in canvas (regulars will have spotted I have a fetish for cotton tents!)

I've got a Dragon and I'm not afraid to use it !!
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
cbfc,
Have a look at Breez's web site to get an idea of what the GLV6 is like and the room that is available. I searched for days trying to get a good site to show me what it was like inside, and breezy's did the job.
Hi cbfc, Have a look at the new Vango Aspen range they do a 500 and 700 thre large doors making in airy in the summer,go to www.outdoorfocus.co.uk you will find it there,

Where are you located? I'm waiting to see the Gelert tents up before making a final decision about which tent to go for. I've been told that my nearest stockist will be putting their display up during March. bucks camping
