I have read that it is possible to fit a Vango Icarus 5 canopy to a Gelert Atlantis 5 which has made me wonder if there any others that would fit. What tolerance can you work with? eg if your tent is 310 wide by 210 tall and the canopy is slightly narrower at 300 wide by 210 tall, can you jiggle it about so they marry up? I'm not sure whether this is possible, any information would be gratefully received. As a relatively new camper I have so many questions!

Hi, other threads on this topic have generally said that the canopy should be slightly wider - 10cm and the same height.

I have used a Kyham Faro 5 canopy on both a 4 berth tent(sunncamp 400) and a 6 berth though and it was a good fit for both.

If you're trying to get a cheap front porch for the atlantis 5 its better to get one thats slightly larger, I had the original porch with my old atlantis 5 and it seems the norm for them (porches in general) to have a large gap around the bottom so going slightly larger may compensate for that. I also found with the front porch on it overlapped the side door so may be better to get a universal side porch so you can still easily use both doors and it should allow more light in as the front windows will still get direct light and leaving the side door open will allow even more light in.

I sold my Atlantis as it wasn't really big enough for 5 (and I wanted cotton) but have since bought the Corona 6 for summer breaks and will be looking for a side porch for it. I'm thinking horizon canopy although would prefer an enclosed porch but we'll see.

I have an Orchy 500 and was told the Vango premium extension, the Samara 400 extension and the Icarus 500 extension would fit my tent, so I guess those canopies are a similar size.
