If you are moving from place to place I would agree that the Nevada M is a lot of work (though I'm sure others would say not). We have the Oakland which is just a touch bigger than the Nevada and I wouldn't want to have to keep taking that down and putting it back up every few days. With the weather the way it is at the moment I would say a porch is a good idea especially with the dog.
With the vango 300+ being quite low I would have thought it would stand up better in any winds you get. Though it isn't standing height so you may get fed up with crawling in and out all the time. You might be better of looking for a tent that has standing (or nearly standing) height but is still quick to put up.
Outwell Carolina m,nice size for sitting/cooking,plenty room for the dog, easy to pitch/strike..Just another idea ,we have just bought a mountain warehouse dome 2,no idea how it would stand up to really bad weather, but takes 2 minutes to pitch/strike and has a small porch,or gelert colima twin door, seems to have good reviews and has porch either end.

I agree with Zeelees, I have a Carolina M and I can throw it up solo in a few minutes. Its tough enough for the weather up here and plenty room to cook in as well. For multi pitch trips I am thinking about a Coleman Instant tourer - up and pegged in less than 5 mins! No porch tho so would have to improvise with a tarp
I'm currently bidding on a tent on EBay. Not saying which tent in case some evil person decides to bid against me.
If I don't get it I think I will go for a Vango Equinox 350. It has a porch and a clearance of 1.35m, which is enough room for a chair, if the weather is really bad.
Plus it has small windows, through which my dog will constantly stare.
