I've posted on here a few times over the last month or so regarding a new ten purchase. Still nothing decided but having just booked the next camping trip in a couple of weeks I'd like to come to some sort of decision.
I think I've narrowed it dewn to 2 contenders
Kampa Filey 6 classic - like the idea of a polycotton tent, Kampa get great reviews. Have seen it in the flesh and it looks very impressive. Like the storage area.
or
outwell Delaware 5
its not pollycotton but is a very nice looking tent, really like the enclosed porch area that can be part of fully zipped off, great features like the drying rails in the porch.
The Filey will cost me more, especially if I want to get the vestibule bit to bring it up to the same type of thing as the Delaware.
With Yeomans 10% and a cashback offer I can pick up the Delaware for just over £600, I'll be looking at an extra £200 for the Kampa.
can anyone offer any guidance in my decision making.
cheers,
Dan

Both good tents,it comes down to your choice,we all have different ideas (I'm sure I've said this before but I'm getting old) If you can get more Outwell for less money than the Kampa then I would go with that, seems crazy buying an extra to make a tent the same size as another, unless you can use the smaller tent without extension for weekends.
I would hurry up and get one or the other though,or you might end up with a pop up for your holiday!

and lots more besides
I've recently swapped to canvas after polyester, and there is a huge difference. With polycotton you should have the best of both worlds. Much quieter in wind, stays warmer and they last longer. Down side of course is that they are heavier and bulkier and can take a while to dry. I can't comment on the individual tents bt if the extra cost is ok and you've got the space I would pick the polycotton- i'll certainly never go back to polyester.
I have the Outwell Arkansas 5 which has a built in porch with drying rails and I have to say it's superb! Withstood gail force winds, heavy rain etc. no problems. Might be worth a look even if you have it down to 2 choices. :-) Happy tent buying.

ive just upgraded to the bigger studland 8 classic excellent tent plus i got the front extension vestibule, id deff get the pollycotton, also think of getting the extension makes a good cooking area,
To be honest I would if funds permit go for the Kampa Filey Classic as you already know they are good quality if you intend keeping it for a long while it will outlast the Outwell. If you compare the Filey Classic to the Outwell polycottons youll see its a very good price
