We have just sold our Vango Tamor 500 which has given us years of great service however we have found that there is just not enough living space and due to small windows dark, we tend to go away for at least a week at a time, (it would have been fine for short breaks). There are only 2 of us but we like space!!! We dont have a huge budget only up to £400 max please can anyone suggest a tent for us? Thank you in anticipation

Colorado 5 by Outwell. We have had one for several years & bought a new model with a sewn in groundsheet last year. We bought a footprint groundsheet too. OH is 6ft 4 & can stand up throughout. It has a fab living space & we have had 8 people around a table in it. It has 2 bedrooms but with a zipped partition which we keep unzipped. In one we have our double camp bed & in the other a luggable loo & is our dressing room. It's a fab tent & perfect for weekend breaks . We have stayed for a week in it too & it was brilliant. After a couple of camps we got the pitching time down to 20 mins!(bearing in mind I am a weak thing too!)The windows are large & give plenty of light. It has stood up to 40mph winds with not a murmur. It's a really great tent for 2. One issue is it's orange but hey we can always find it on the site! We paid £259 from Go Outdoors so you'd have plenty left over for nice accessories!

There is only 2 of us too and we just bought an Outwell Virginia, it has been discontinued but you can still get them, it cost me £130 (rrp £300)
I have to be honest, I was looking at the Nevada M or the Oakland L, both of which are about £260 but you can still get extensions and awnings for them. We had actually settled on the Oakland L but decided to go for the Virginia because of the side rain safe canopy, plus it was cheaper for us as budget was an issue.
I dont have experience of any other make of tent of this size, mine before were all 3 man dome tents but I am sure lots of other people will give you great advice.
We spent a couple of weekends looking at outdoor displays, not Go but SK Camping and Outdoor World in Horsham, helped us narrow down the type of tent and size and then google from there to get the best deals.
Doesnt matter which tent you buy, you will soon see someone with what looks like a better one and then you'll want one of those. So you'll go and look at them in the shops, buy one, love it, go camping and see someone with a better set up and you want one of those. And the circle goes and goes till your house is full of camping equipment and you need to sell or get rid of some of it, because the last time you where away you saw someone with a fantastic set up and you need to get it!

Kampa Croyde 6 would be good if you want some space, steel poles and a built in canopy. Great quality, realistic price and great after sales

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again

I've just bought an Outwell Nevada xl. There are only 2 of us, but hubby and I wanted a large living area. The windows are huge, so very light inside!! Had ours off E-Bay, new 2012 model for £350.00. Good luck!!!
------------- Enjoy life while you can, none of us know what's round the corner!
We are sellilg a outwell nevada l with every thing but sleeping bags on ebay if you are liking what you see let me know if not happy hunting and good luck in finding what you want
Another vote here for the Kampa Croyde 6, we have nothing but praise for ours, there are only the 2 of us, we use it for weekends as well as longer trips and absolutely love it, I am always looking around at other tents but havent seen anything I like as much as ours.
We had A Lulworth (precursor to the Croyde) for 2 plus Poppy Dog, it was lovely, but the living area was too BIG for us, we spent our time in the canopy area. The living area was only used for storage and to walk through!
Our new Eureka! N!ergy Grand BTC is polycotton and has smaller living area and BIG porch. Love it!
------------- Yes, the car is bigger than the 'van.
We opted for the Kampa Croyde 6 after much deliberation. Heaps of living space and lovely wide porch for cooking under cover. Great quality, can't fault it really. Such good value for money
