hi , just a quick one , me and my partner put up our mojave 5 tent , and its quiet easy to put up , but we always seem to do something wrong , either the bed rooms dont fit right or the door zip is too tight , i think the poles must not be parrell , were putting our poles in then lifting the back pole up first together then pegging it down and working forward , is this the right way or not ? , should i leave pegs while last ? , should i start from front first ? any tips or help is wecome please , thanks andy

hi grayie allthough ive no experience with the mojave.

if the zips are too tight the fabric arround the door is being pulled to taught, proberbly from pegging the material to tightly, is the door open or closed when pitching?

we usually find we have to go arround the tent repegging and guying to iron out any irregularaties this dosent allways mean pegging the tent as tight as you can sometimes you need a little less on sides with doorways17

there could of course be some kind of tent fault thats causing this, but would try fiddling with the pitching somemore.

theres no right or wrong way to pitch a tent its what works for you

I have been told that you should put the front pole up first and work towards the back of your tent as this means the tent 'lofts' (air gets into it) from the door, helping you to pitch. Once the poles are up and before you start to peg too much do as newnatji suggests and zip the doors shut.

Have to say I still work back to front when pitching but only because it works and I like doing it that way

I think everyone has their own way but for me the doors need to be open a little to allow air in for the tent to inflate/fill with air from being flat. Once inflated/raised whatever you do peek inside and check the floor is flat and even, this means that the tent poles are in a good line both straight and diagonally. Once the floor is flat and even and your happy with the adjustments, then close the doors and peg out the base and ropes.

I have to agree with "Old Grey" on this one doors open when lifting closed when pegging out. The reason for putting the front pole in first is that ore air can get in through the front door than through the bedrooms so easier to lift up
