My husband & grown up son have had the old style outwell hartford xl tent, with a seperate canopy, for several years & it has been amazing in the most dreadful weather. Getting older now we want something that is quicker to put up but with seperate bedroom for our son & good head height in the bedrooms also. We like a good porch area too.Any recomendations please...thought tunnel vis a vis style would suit us best?

Hi deglenn,

There is an 8berth (says brand new) Cabanon Vis-a-Vis for sale on Ebay at £850, collection only in Christchurch. As a new one would be normally £1400 plus it looks a good deal. Best quality you are likely to find if somewhat bulky. Dont know what your budget is but may be worth a look.

Vango Astoria 800, I think it's amazing but might be a bit big.

I can recommend the Sunncamp Shadow. No longer made but you can still pick up new ones. There is a 600 and an 800. We have the 800 which is only for 4 of us and we love the space. We have the Sunncamp Verano DL extension which makes a great cooking area.

No idea what your budget is so this could either be too cheap or too expensive!

Consider the Kampa Tenby, available in 6, 8 and 10 berth sizes.

Much higher quality, longer-lasting material than other synthetic tents and very well designed with some great little design touches that makes it stand out. I saw an 8 on display and was very impressed indeed.

Oh dear so sorry to you folks that took the time to answer my query.. re best vis a vis tent, thank you very much. Finally bought a Vango maritsa 700 last summer which is not the vis a vis we were looking for, however it works superbly as we have a good space between our bedrooms which we use as a dressing area/ wardrobe. We used it several times last year and cant wait to use it again.

I absolutely love my Gelert Meridian 8. I have a few tents but this is by far my favourite. If you do a search you can still find one or two new ones at good prices. Easy to put up, loads of space.

I keep searching for a new tent but can't find anything I prefer!

Just read you now have a tent so a bit pointless, but if you want another!!
